Business Broker Registration Requirements

If you are a business broker and believe you are a premium provider in the business brokerage industry, we would love to work with you.  We do not charge a fee to be registered with Business Broker Referral, but we do require evidence of legal compliance, brokerage competence and impeccable ethical standards.

We believe the best way to protect integrity is to have everyone's interests aligned, which is why we do not charge our clients for referrals or accept payment from brokers to be registered. Instead, registered brokers pay us according to their succes with our clients. So, like our clients, we want only the best business brokers.

The registration process should not be onerouse for an experienced business broker. The documentation requested is information any informed business owner would want and any experienced broker will have.

Minimum registration requirements are as follows.

• Copy of license or other documentation required to be fully compliant with all laws and regulations of the state(s) in which services are provided.*
• Proof of at least five years experience
• Documentation of three recent transactions
• Copy of Errors and Omissions insurance
• References
• Consent to background check
• Executed Ethical Conduct Agreement
• Successfully completing the broker intake interview, which covers business valuation, marketing a business for sale, approach to client management, and ethical standards.
• Completion of the registration documents

Business Broker Referral is not exclusive as our goal is to provide every seller requesting assistance with three choices. Brokers that successfully complete our registration process will be referred to sellers based not only on how well they fit our client's needs, but also on their track record and association with Business Broker Referral.

Should a broker match a referral request, the broker contact and general background information will be provided to the seller. They are under no obligation to contact the referred broker and the referred broker will never be given seller information. The seller's confidentiality will never be compromised.

The exact nature of our agreements with broker providers varies depending on state laws and regulations, but our income is always tied to our registered broker's success.

Business Broker Referral is growing quickly and requests for referrals come from all accross the United States. In many states we are having trouble providing three referrals for each request and are looking for brokers in all states except Iowa and Minnesota.
