General Broker Requirements

Only business brokers that have met all our registration requirements will be considered by Business Broker Referral.

In addition to completing an in-depth interview process and providing documentation on previous transactions, all brokers will meet the following minimum criteria.

• Five plus years experience
• Insured
• Consent to Background
• References
• Licensed*

Business Brokers do not pay to be eligible for referral. They are chosen because they have proven the ability to successfully broker businesses.

Program Description

Our mission is to help business owners find competent, ethical business brokers to help them through the sale of their business. We want to build a trusted brand and have chosen a business model based on a win - win premise. As a business seller, you have absolutely nothing to lose by using Business Broker Referral.

There are no contracts or fees. Just send us an email with your contact information and some general information about your business. Upon receiving your information, we review our broker network and provide you with up to three business brokers that are able to serve your geographic area and that have the appropriate expertise for your company and industry.

The process is entirely confidential. Potential brokers are only given the general location, size and industry description of the business. Your actual identity is revealed only when and if you contact the referred broker(s).  So, you are entirely in control of the process and can choose to contact all or none of the brokers that have been referred to you.

Our fees are not based on sellers paying us a subscription fee or on brokers paying a registration fee for referrals. Instead, our fees are paid by brokers based on their success at helping our sellers. That way our goal is the same as yours, to make sure a successful broker represents you, and it is why we require every broker to complete our thorough review process (more).

Our seller clients pay nothing for the service and are under no obligation. Our providers are picked by their ability to help business sellers and we are compensated by how well it works for all.

We have contacts with professional brokers in many states across the U.S., so it may only take a short time for you to receive broker information.  If we don’t feel our current providers are capable of representing you or if we don’t have a provider in your area, we will start looking for you - of course, at no obligation or charge.
